Rotor flow meter is a variable area flow meter based on float position measurement. It is easy for installation and maintenance, and can be widely used in the flow measurement and process control of complex, harsh environment and various media conditions.
Working principle: The ROTA METER consists of two components, one is a conical tube that gradually expands from the bottom up; the other is a rotor placed in a conical tube and can move freely along the center line of the tube. When measuring the flow of the fluid, the measured fluid flows in from the lower end of the conical tube, and the fluid flow shocks the rotor and creates a force on it (the magnitude of the flow varies); when the flow is large enough, the resulting force lifts the rotor and raises it. At the same time, the measured fluid flows through the annular section between the rotor and the conical tube wall. There are three forces acting on the rotor: the dynamic pressure of the fluid to the rotor, the buoyancy of the rotor in the fluid, and the gravity of the rotor itself. When the PANEL FLOW METER is installed vertically, the rotor center of gravity and the cone tube shaft will coincide, and all three forces acting on the rotor are parallel to the tube shaft. When the three forces reach equilibrium, the rotor floats smoothly at a position within the conical tube.For a given rotor flow meter, the rotor size and shape have been determined, so that both its buoyancy in the fluid and its own gravity are known to be constants, and only that the dynamic pressure of the fluid changes with the size of the flow velocity. Therefore, when the inflow rate becomes larger or small, the rotor will move upward or downward, and the flow cross-sectional area of the corresponding position also changes until the corresponding velocity becomes equilibrium, and the rotor is stable in the new position. For a given rotor FLOW METER, the position of the rotor in the cone tube corresponds one-to-one to the size of the fluid flow through the cone tube.
In order to keep the rotor in the movement of the center line of the tube, two methods are usually adopted: one is in the center of the rotor to keep the movement of the rotor in the center line of the rotor at the edge of the rotor disc and bypass the rotor through the rotor, the rotor does not touch the pipe wall while working. The rotor material of the rotor flow meter can be made of stainless steel, aluminum, bronze, etc.
